The Two Sides of 5th Street - Carolina Nightlife →
The 5th Street corridor has always been a Charlotte nightlife staple, home to uptown stalwarts RiRa, Connolly’s, the Attic, Madison’s, Phil’s and Buckhead Saloon. Cross over Tryon Street however, and the picture becomes much bleaker. Daddy’s Bar and Grill at the corner of 5th and Church has been vacant for over a year now, despite an excellent multi-level floor plan. The...

Fire did nearly $1 million damage to a popular uptown Charlotte restaurant Saturday morning.
The blaze, which broke out sometime around 5:30 a.m., heavily damaged Ri-Ra’s Irish Pub, a two-story restaurant in the 200 block of North Tryon Street.
No injuries were reported, and quick work by firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading or damaging any nearby businesses in the restaurant...

Maybe June 13th? In Raleigh? At this place? (CLEARLY all of this is flexible)
Spread the word, and email me if interested.
I need to get a general idea of those who are legitimately down for a meet-up, if people are available this weekend, who would be able to get to Raleigh/CH, ect. And it will...

Charlotte Tumblrs - your contributions to the Charlottetown group Tumblr thus far have been … less than expected. I know you guys are out there and posting lots of great content from around Charlotte, why not share it with a Charlotte-specific audience in a central place? It’s also a good way to get in touch with other Charlotte Tumblrs, and stay in the loop for the next meetup (now that the...

McCrory won't run for mayor in 2009 →
The end of an era. McCrory had his detractors, but comparing the Charlotte of 1989 to the vibrant, growing city we live in today is a testament to his accomplishments.

I need help with Charlottetown
Calling all Charlotte Tumblrs - Help me out with Charlottetown. I know I’ve been slow keeping it updated myself, but that’s because there’s no way one person can keep up with everything going on in this busy city!
I envisioned this originally as a group Tumblog that could have its finger on the pulse of everything Charlotte has to offer. You can contribute as often or as...
